Know what happens when you combine the skills and interests of a teacher, a corporate manager, and a copywriter?

With professional-grade training from American Writers and Artists Inc. (AWAI), as well as from renowned blogging guru, Jon Morrow, of Smart Blogger, I’d be delighted to help you with your overall marketing strategy, and written content creation.
As an SEO Content Strategist and UX Copywriter, I will work with you to craft compelling, authoritative content that satisfies searcher intent and enables top ranking in Google SERPS.

So … Ready to work with me? Let’s make this happen!
Very briefly … my story so far …
I’ve always loved creative, expressive writing, and fondly recall writing stories and plays – from the age of 8 – for our little cousin club. There were four of us – my sister and two cousins – and we were inseparable. We called our club the SIV Club … SIV being Latin for Secret Four. A pretty cool name, even if I say so myself!
Fast forward to the present, and I have written – and published – a children’s book on epilepsy … “Way to Go Flash … the adventures of a horse who would never say Never!” This project was a collaboration with the Jamaica Epilepsy Association … the intended goal being to promote an understanding and acceptance of a condition shrouded in myth and superstition.
Gigs and Side Projects …
My most recent challenge has been quite an exciting ghostwriting gig … executive speech writing. The stress can be tremendous, as very often the super-busy executives give you minimal heads-up notice of the assignment.
At other times, they casually tell you just to write it … all. With no pointers, or leads, or input from them. “You understand my style. You know my voice,” they tell me. “Just do it.”
Now, that’s what I call panic station … but I love it, nonetheless!
Background & Previous Experiences …
I studied Modern Languages at University – majoring in Linguistics – with summers spent traveling and studying in Switzerland, France and Mexico. I became a High School teacher at a private independent school in Kingston, Jamaica, and was promoted to Principal after a few years.
Once I ‘graduated’ from teaching, I spent many years working in the private sector in various management roles … each one valuable and instructive in its own right.
Writing/Copy Editing/Digital Storytelling … my golden thread …
My love of writing and creative expression has been a constant throughout my life. I’m not sure if the AWAI and Smart Blogger opportunities found me, or if I found them. But I feel as if we are a perfect fit, and this new, exciting chapter was meant to be … at this exact time.
Digital copywriting – including SEO and User Experience (UX) copywriting – is a dynamic, evolving field. I believe that UX Copywriting in particular is perhaps the best way to excite and engage the reader. A win-win situation for both Company and Prospect …
I look forward to undertaking many winning projects with you. Let’s work together and deliver results!
